Demand for Thailand Pilots

Boeing predicts that over the next 20 years, there will be a worldwide demand of over 800,000 new pilots, 645,000 of them Commercial Fixed Wing Pilots. Of this worldwide demand for pilots, 38% will be in the Asia-Pacific region, creating significant demand for pilots, with the career outlook and earnings to match.

According to Boeing, the Asia-Pacific region will need an additional 244,000 pilots to meet the growth projections and current aircraft orders.  That means that on average the airlines in the region expect to hire approximately 12,200 pilots per year.

Thai Pilot Career Path

After completion of flight training, and gaining employment with an airline, you would be hired in a position called First Officer.  After flying for the company for several years you will meet the qualifications to be a Captain.  It will require additional testing to qualify, but the average airline captain in Asia makes between US$8,000 (247,000 THB) and US$20,000 (625,280 THB) per month income.

Thailand Student Pilot Training Requirements

To qualify for ϲФ’s commercial pilot training program the following requirements must be met:

  • Must meet the FAA medical standards able to obtain a Class 1 Medical
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to read, speak, write, and understand English International Civil Aviation Organization (“ICAO”) English level 4
  • Must have a valid Passport
  • Must be eligible for a student visa in the United States
